Welcome to Anwarrbarr Tours, situated at Marlkawo Homeland in the heart of the Stone Country in West Arnhem Land. Anwarrbarr Tours offer an exclusive opportunity to travel into Arnhem Land, experience our community life, feel the spirit of our Country and connect with our family and our culture.
Our Story
Anwarrbarr Tours is an Aboriginal owned and operated family business, situated at the Marlkawo Homeland on the Arnhem Land Plateau. Our homeland is a 12 hour drive from Darwin or a short 45 minute scenic flight from Jabiru in Kakadu National Park.
Our Creation Ancestor Bolmo made this Country, bringing with him the mandudjmi the Green Plum bushtucker. The plum grows on a small tree we call Anwarrbarr.
Our Country
Marlkawo Homeland, part of the Warddeken Indigenous Protected Area in Arnhem Land, is a breathtakingly remote and culturally significant region. Spanning over 1.3 million hectares, it features spectacular stone formations, rivers, waterfalls and extensive rock art galleries left by our Ancestors. Our homeland was built by hand by our Fathers and Grandfathers, so their children and grandchildren could stay connected to their culture and care for their Country.
